The PHP powered system to create your site search engine for your Mobirise sites.
What Will You Get From My Sciscito
The system will scan your HTML and PHP files for text to add to the search engine not only in your site's root folder but all sub-folders too. So if you have additional Mobirise Sites in sub-folders they will also be scanned for searchable content.
Certain files and page content will be excluded automatically and you can also exclude other files found from a list supplied as required. This is useful for pages you do not want to appear in search results, like thankyou pages, admin pages, processing pages etc.
Sciscito will create a database of search words to use in search results, which will be queried when a search request is processed.
Some files and all files in some folders will be automatically excluded from the results namely:
- Error pages such as 400.html, 400.php, 401.html, 401.php etc. (full list in the user guide).
- Google site identity html files.
- Folders named assets, js, css, utils, _private, fonts, errorpages, ipn, includes will not be searched.
- The Sciscito search system folder (rssearch).
- Any page that has the meta tag noindex set, like:
- Any page that has no text in the body or page keywords will automatically be excluded from the search data.
What will be included in the page search data?
- All tags will be removed from the search data, and all text within the tags will be analysed.
- All words less than 4 characters long will be removed as will commas, full-stops and other punctuation, carriage returns and line feeds will also be removed, all script tags and content and some other non-words also removed.
- Any keywords in the keywords meta tag (if present) will also be included in the search text.
What happens if I add a new page to the site or edit the content of a page or pages?
- Simply re-run the routine. Any search data will be updated and the new pages will be added to the results.
- If you have completely re-built the site and deleted several pages, simply trigger the Sciscito Reset function and then re-build the search engine data. You will, in this case need to re-select any pages you do not want to be scanned.
